Piping & Fluids

ASYN maintains highly qualified designers and engineers to support fluids and piping design tasks. Engineers’ have backgrounds in iron and steel making projects, air separation plants and utility industries like water treatment, and fire fighting systems.

Together with process department, specification of equipment in fluid area such as pumps, compressors, heater and coolers, etc. are specified. After this stage and together with layout, piping designers start their activities.

Fluid and piping department pays special attention to the routes & maintainability in the design procedure. Placing of control valves, ease of operation, cost effective pipe routing, optimum pipe size calculations, piping support design etc. are the tasks particularly considered in the projects.
Use of quality process checklists, ensures that the design output meets customer requirements and that all drafting errors are detected within the multiple levels of Quality Control (QC) before the complete project is delivered to the customer.

Together with process and instrumentation engineering department, the piping design leader directs the production of the detailed piping system design. The engineer supports this design activity with the development of specifications for piping materials and piping specialty items, and where applicable, performance of code reviews. If required, the engineer performs calculations and analysis of piping systems with severe temperature gradients to provide system design guidance.

Piping designers work in connection with structure design personnel. This allows an optimal physical design to be accomplished from both the piping and structural support viewpoints.

Exclusive piping design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, PDMS, and CAESAR II are the basic core of piping and fluid department activities including following services;

  • Equipment data-sheet development (pump, heat exchangers...)

  • Pipe sizing calculation

  • Utility piping network calculations

  • PMS(piping material specification) development in concert with process department

  • Piping design criteria development

  • Valve specification

  • Conceptual Pipe Routing

  • Development of piping arrangements

  • Piping isometric drawings

  • Special item datasheet development

  • Piping component BOM

  • Detailed standard and special supports

  • Pipe Sizing Calculation

  • Piping stress analysis on the following parameters:

    • Loads (Weight, Thermal, Seismic, Wind, etc.)

    • Materials (Metallic, Nonmetallic (Example: FRP (GRP), HDPE, PVC, etc.), Buried, Jacketed
